"You rebel," Kurt said, amusement tinging his voice. He flopped back on his bed, and looked over at Blaine. "Think of something and I’ll take you…"
Blaine nodded, smiling. “I’ll let you know when I decide what I want.”
Kurt gave a soft laugh. “Well, my dad doesn’t exactly mind, but it’s not his favorite thing in the world. And um, well, my mom isn’t exactly around….”
Blaine nodded, deciding not to mention what the Glee club had said about Kurt’s mom. “My parents definitely wouldn’t approve at all,” he said. “But I’m reaching the point of not caring what they think anymore.”
"Sounds good. Also, if you come up with something before you turn 18 my guys doesn’t care. How do you think I have all of my tats? I’ve only been 18 for 6 months…."
Blaine shrugged. “I guess I kind of thought your parents were okay with some of it.”
"Interesting. Well if you ever decide on what you want let me know and I could take you to my guy." Kurt said, offering Blaine a tiny smile, "You’d look good with a bit of ink."
"You think so?" Blaine asked, smiling, his eyes lighting up. "I haven’t put a ton of thought into it yet, and I won’t be eighteen for a few more months, but I’ll keep thinking, see if I come up with something good."
Kurt made a surprised noise in the back of his throat. “Getting a piercing of your own? Where?”
"Uh, well, we were actually talking about a tattoo. I haven’t decided, yet, where I want it. I suggested it during a fit of desire to rebel a bit, but I really do kind of want one. Maybe something on my arm or my back," Blaine said, shrugging a little. It was nice to see Kurt surprised, so he added, "But I can’t say that I’m totally rejecting the idea of a piercing, either."
Kurt hummed, vaguely interested, but took a bite of his own apple.
"What other things has this friend introduced you to?"
"Oh, well, some other bands and some writers. He’s also got tattoos and piercings, too, and I was talking with him the other day about maybe getting one of my own," Blaine said, opening his water and taking a sip.
"Really?" Kurt said blinking at Blaine in surprise. This band in particular was one of the more "indie" bands he listened to, so it was kind of the surprising that Blaine knew of them.
"Mmhm," Blaine hummed with a nod. He smiled around the bite of apple as he chewed. He swallowed and then elaborated. "I have a friend online that’s into all sorts of stuff and he’s introduced me to a few things."
Kurt turned on Pandora radio for one of his… less aggressive bands and looked at Blaine.
"Is this okay?" he asked Blaine, hoping it was. He sipped at his water bottle, slightly, and pointlessly, nervous.
Blaine nodded, recognizing the music. “Yeah, I really like this band,” he said, smiling. He felt ridiculous, nervous and uneasy, like Kurt might turn and get angry at any moment, and Blaine didn’t want that to happen. He didn’t want Kurt to decide he didn’t want to hang out with Blaine, to take away the chance of a real friendship.
"Alright," Kurt said, reaching for his phone and the iHome on the end table. He was quiet as he scanned through the phone, trying to find something they could agree on.
"What do you like to listen to?"
Blaine shrugged, biting into his apple. He couldn’t say that he liked all of Kurt’s music, but he’d been introduced to some punk stuff that he liked well enough and he knew Kurt had a musical collection, not that he could let Kurt know he knew, since as far as Kurt was aware Blaine was a total stranger.
"I don’t really care. I can enjoy just about anything," he said, hoping Kurt would pick something not too dark.
